'Congrats Delhiites! Yamuna No Longer Poisonous': Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal has said water toxicity in Yamuna, Delhi, has decreased due to AAP protests. He also said that the Election Commission threatened punishment for his stance on the Yamuna water issue.

Former Delhi CM on Friday said that the toxicity of the water in the Yamuna in Delhi had come down, thanks to the protests by the Aam Aadmi Party and the people of the national capital. He further said that the Election Commission has threatened to "punish" him for his stance on the Yamuna water ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls.
Taking to X, Kejriwal wrote: "Many congratulations to the people of Delhi. Our struggle bore fruit. The poisonous water that was being sent to Delhi has now stopped. The amount of ammonia in the water coming to Delhi has decreased from 7 ppm to 2 ppm."

"Had we not raised our voices and struggled, half the population of Delhi would be deprived of water today. We saved Delhi from a major water crisis. The Election Commission has issued a notice to me and threatened to punish me," he said, attaching a picture of his reply to the poll body.
The Yamuna has become a poll plank in the run up to the the Delhi Assembly elections. On one hand, the BJP is alleging that the AAP had failed to keep its promise of cleaning up the Yamuna, on the other, the AAP claimed that the BJP-ruled Haryana was trying to create an artificial water crisis in Delhi ahead of the elections.
