The Assembly polls in the five states will be held between November 7 and November 30. Mizoram will go to polls on November 7, Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 25, and Telangana on November 30 while Chhattisgarh will vote in two phases on November 7 and November 17.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its fifth list of 15 candidates for the ensuing General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan, accouncing candidates for 198 out of 200 seats in the state. The party has fielded Unemployment Association President Upen Yadav from the Shahpura seat.
Locked in a bitter poll battle with the ruling Congress in the state and eyeing a comeback, the BJP has dropped sitting MLA from Mawli (Udaipur) Dharmnarayan Joshi and fielded KG Paliwal from the seat instead. The party has also fielded some new faces such as Gopal Sharma from Civil Lines and Ravi Nayyar from Adarsh Nagar.
Earlier in the third list, the saffron party had announced the name of Poonam Kanwar Bhati, the daughter-in-law of former minister Devi Singh Bhati, but replaced her with her son Anshuman Singh Bhati in the Kolayat seat. The 200-member Rajasthan Assembly will go for polls on on November 25 and the results will be declared on December 3.
The ruling Congress party in the state, led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, is trying to bend the 'revolving door' trend in Rajasthan as the voters tend to elect alternative governments and is tying to retain power in the state, the BJP has gone all out attacking the Congress government on corruption charges, and law and other situation to grab power.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that the Bharatiya Janata Party has done the work of connecting Delhi with the Northeast states. While addressing the people of Mizoram via video conference, the Prime Minister said that Mizoram has the potential to become a global tourist hub, and when infrastructure improves, it will help trade, talent, and tourism.

Centre Acts On Inflation Only During Polls, Says Priyanka Gandhi
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, general secretary of the Congress, slammed the Union government on Monday for raising the prices of onions and other vital goods, saying the administration only tries to control inflation when elections are approaching, PTI reported. She was speaking at a rally in Madhya Pradesh's Indore-5 Assembly constituency, where elections will be place on November 17 and ballots will be tallied on December 3.
"Onion prices have increased before Diwali and housewives are upset over this. The government makes efforts to control inflation only when elections are held. The price of an LPG cylinder rose to Rs 1,400 and two months before the elections, the government reduced its price to Rs 400," she said.

Chhattisgarh elections: 3-layered security cover for over 600 polling booths in Bastar
More than 600 voting stations in dangerous regions of Naxal-hit Bastar division, which will vote in the first round of Chhattisgarh assembly elections on Tuesday, will be protected by three layers of security, according to police, news agency PTI reported. Around 60,000 security troops, 40,000 from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and 20,000 from the state police, have been deployed to ensure the peaceful conduct of elections in the Bastar division, which has 12 assembly seats, they added. Members of the elite anti-Naxal unit CoBRA, as well as women commandos, will be part of the security apparatus, according to the police.
