ABP CVoter Gujarat Exit Poll 2022 HIGHLIGHTS: Hello and welcome to ABP Live for the Exit Poll results coverage of the Gujarat Assembly Election 2022. Polling for the 182-member Gujarat assembly was held in two phases, with the first phase of voting for 89 assembly constituencies taking place on December 1 and the second phase for 93 assembly seats conducted on December 5. The fate of all the candidates has been sealed and the counting of votes will take place on December 8. As the wait continues, ABP News and CVoter bring you the Gujarat Exit Poll results to read the voters' minds and predict the plausible winner of the high-stakes Gujarat assembly election.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), with all pomp and show, has been aiming to breach the BJP fort in Gujarat. The saffron party, meanwhile, made sure their election campaigning was not outshined with heavyweights including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda, and BJP chief ministers among others camping in the state. The main opposition Congress, which almost gave the scare of defeating the BJP in the 2017 Gujarat assembly elections, remained focused on a more door-to-door campaign. Newly elected party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister of Congress-led states and even Rahul Gandhi campaigned for the grand old party to woo voters.

Ahead of the counting, ABP News in partnership with CVoter brings you Exit Poll results to gauge the overall trends in Gujarat. Stay tuned on ABP Live for the complete coverage of Gujarat Exit Poll Results 2022.

Gujarat Assembly Election 2017

In the 2017 Gujarat Assembly election, at one time during the counting it had looked like the Congress would be able to end BJP's run in the state. But they eventually finished with only 77 seats. Even with a diminishing vote share, the saffron party was able to wrest 99 seats, crossing the magic figure of 92 assembly seats for a simple majority. BTP won 2 and 'others' gained 4 in the 182-member Gujarat assembly.

Gujarat Assembly Election 2012

The 2012 Gujarat assembly election results essentially paved the way for Narendra Modi to be projected as the prime ministerial candidate for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Under the then chief minister Modi, BJP easily won majority with 115 assembly seats. The Congress could win only 61 seats and 'others' got six.

ABP-CVoter Exit Poll Results 2022: Vote Share Percentage & Projected Seat Range Of Kutch-Saurashtra

The ABP News-CVoter survey has forecast another significant gain in the vote share of the AAP in the Kutch-Saurashtra region that has 54 seats. The AAP is projected to win 17% of the votes polled, that is likely to translate to 4-6 seats, the maximum found in this poll. The BJP and Congress won 45.9% and 45.5% of the votes in 2017. However, the Congress is projected to lose 8.7% of the votes this year and win 8 to 12 seats — a massive drop from the 30 seats it won in the last elections. The BJP, on the other hand, has been projected to be the biggest gainer in the Kutch-Saurashtra region. It is likely to win 36 to 40 seats, up from the 23 constituencies that it won in 2017.Independents and others aren't likely to have made much of an impact in this region either, with prospects of winning just 0-2 seats.
