Background

Vidisha: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Sushma Swaraj from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 410698 votes. The polling / voting in Vidisha constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Ramakant Bhargav and Congress Party#s Shailendra patel

Vidisha 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 27 out of the 29 parliamentary seat with 54 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 34.9 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Vidisha Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 65.68% Lok Sabha percent with 71.22% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 59.34% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 10618 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 12 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Vidisha, 10 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Sushma Swaraj of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Lakshman Singh by a margin of 410698 votes.

  • 2009 Lok Sabha Elections: In 15th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Samajwadi Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Smt. Sushma Swaraj attained 438235 votes and SP's Choudhary Munabbar Salim bagged 48391 votes.
  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Shivraj Singh attained 428030 votes and INC's Narbada Prasad Sharma bagged 167304 votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 82397 votes BJP candidate Shivraj Singh had got 360421 while INC got Jasvant Singh votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Shivrajsingh attained 374406 votes and INC's Ashutosh Dayal Sharma bagged 236548 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Shivraj Singh attained 310580 votes and INC's Hirdai Mohan Jain bagged 134822 votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Atal Bihari Vajpayee attained 279232 votes and INC's Pratap Bhanu Sharma bagged 175098 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Raghav Ji attained 313329 votes and INC's Pratap Bhanu Krishnagopal bagged 177197 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 9553 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and JNP here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his JNP counterpart with a difference of 5080 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Raghavji attained 218276 votes and INC's Gufran Md. Azam bagged 94542 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, BJS candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 32064 votes. Here, BJS leader Ramnath Geonka attained 151386 votes and INC candidate Manibhai J. Patel bagged 119322 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, BJS candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 64937 votes BJS candidate S. Sharma had got 158105 while INC got R. Pandey votes.

पूरे देश में मोदी लहर के बावजूद आंध्र प्रदेश में बीजेपी शाम 4 बजे तक अपना खाता भी नहीं खोल पाई है और जगमोहन रेड्डी की पार्टी YSRCP ने 25 में से 23 सीटों पर बढ़त बनाई हुई है.

पूरे देश में लोकसभा चुनावों में मोदी लहर के बावजूद आंध्र प्रदेश में उनका जादू नाकामयाब होता दिख रहा है. आंध्र की जनता ने YSRCP पर भरोसा जताया है. कुल 25 लोकसभा सीटों में से 23 सीटों पर बढ़त बनाए हुए है.

शुरुआती रुझानों में जगनमोहन रेड्डी 14 सीट पर आगे, पिछड़ रही है टीडीपी. अभी तक टीडीपी के खाते में मात्र 4 सीटें दिख रही है.

आंध्र प्रदेश में जगमोहन रेड्डी ने मोदी लहर के बावजूद शानदार प्रदर्शन किया है. उनकी पार्टी YSRCP ने 22 सीटों पर बढ़त हासिल की है. वहीं, तेलुगु देसम पार्टी ने तीन सीटों पर बढ़त हासिल की.

आंध्र प्रदेश में वाईएसआर कांग्रेस 19 सीटों पर आगे. टीडीपी और जनसेना के खाते में 1-1 सीटें. नहीं खुला है बीजेपी कांग्रेस का खाता.
