In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 12 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 40.1 percent vote share while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha managed to win just 2 seats with a 9.3 percent vote share.

• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 10830 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Vijay Singh Soy attained 186248 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Chitrasen Sinku bagged 175418 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Independent candidate with a difference of 11947 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Chitrasen Sinku attained 96484 votes and Independent candidate Vijay Singh Soy bagged 84537 votes
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 46180 votes. • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 19979 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Bagua Samburi attained 84591 votes and JD candidate Mangal Singh Lamaye bagged 64612 votes
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Independent candidate by a margin of 60211 votes INC candidate Begun Sumbrui had got 103160 while IND got Devendra Majhi votes.

મુખ્યમંત્રી વિજય રૂપાણી ઈજાગ્રસ્તોની મુલાકાતે હોસ્પિટલ પહોંચ્યા હતા. તમામના મૃતદેહને સ્મિમેર હોસ્પિટલમાં લાવવામાં આવ્યાં હતાં. પીએમ માટે લાવવામાં આવેલા મૃતદેહોથી સ્મિમેર હોસ્પિટલમાં ગમગીની છવાઈ ગઈ હતી. બીજી તરફ મૃતકોના પરિવારજનોના આક્રંદથી સ્મિમેર હોસ્પિટલમાં શોકનો માહોલ ઉભો થયો હતો.
