Background

Pratapgarh: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Kuwar Harivansh Singh from Apna Dal (AD) won the elections by a margin of 168222 votes. The polling / voting in Pratapgarh constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Sangam Lal Gupta and Bahujan Samaj Party#s Ashok Kumar Tripathi

Pratapgarh 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Pratapgarh Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 52.11% Lok Sabha percent with 49.55% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 55.08% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 9098 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 15 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Pratapgarh, 13 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Kuwar Harivansh Singh of the Apna Dal as he defeated Asif Nizamuddin Siddique by a margin of 168222 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 69272 votes SP candidate Akshay Pratap Singh "Gopal Ji" had got 238137 while INC got Rajkumari Ratna Singh votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 6003 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 68460 votes BJP candidate Ram Vilas Vedanti had got 232927 while INC got Rajkumari Ratna Singh votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 21637 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Rajkumari Ratna Singh attained 139326 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Udairaj Mishra bagged 117689 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between JD and Bharatiya Janta Party here JD candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 3696 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and JD here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his JD counterpart with a difference of 4206 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated LKD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Raja Dinesh Singh attained 279354 votes and LKD's Ram Deo bagged 46847 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP(S) candidate with a difference of 14185 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Ajit Pratap Singh attained 94223 votes and JNP(S) candidate Jai Singh bagged 80038 votes
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Roop Nath Singh Yadava attained 206339 votes and INC's Dinesh Singh bagged 57019 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated SSP candidate by a margin of 80186 votes INC candidate Dinesh Singh had got 156902 while SSP got Munishwar Dutt Upadhyaya votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SSP candidate with a difference of 21692 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader R. D. Singh attained 102825 votes and SSP candidate B. Singh bagged 81133 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, JS candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 23704 votes. Here, JS leader Ajit Pratap Singh attained 96483 votes and INC candidate Munishwar Dutt Upadhya bagged 72779 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 12626 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Munishwar Dutt Upadhyay attained 78399 votes and IND candidate Hari Sharan Singh bagged 65773 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated SP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Feroze Gandhi attained 158569 votes and SP's Nand Ram Gupta bagged 44791 votes.

पंजाब में कांग्रेस का प्रदर्शन बेहतर होता हुआ दिखाई दे रहा है. राज्य की 13 सीटों में से 10 पर कांग्रेस आगे चल रही है. वहीं बीजेपी 2 और अन्य 1 सीट पर आगे चल रहे हैं.

पंजाब में कांग्रेस 9 सीटों पर तो बीजेपी 1 पर लीड कर रही है. यहां राज्य में कांग्रेस की सरकार है और अमरिंजर सिंह मुख्यमंत्री है. उनका जादू शुरकुआती रुझानों में चलता हुआ दिख रहा है.
