Pollachi: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Mahendran.C from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 140974 votes. The polling / voting in Pollachi constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s C. Mahendran and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s Shanmugasundaram

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Pollachi Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 73.30% Lok Sabha percent with 74.93% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 18 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Pollachi, 15 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Mahendran.C of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as he defeated Eswaran.E.R. by a margin of 140974 votes.

Here, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader K. Sugumar attained 305935 votes and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate Shanmugasundaram.K bagged 259910 votes
• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defated All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, MDMK candidate Krishnan, Dr. C attained 364988 votes and ADMK's Murugan. G bagged 244067 votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam here Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defeated his All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam counterpart with a difference of 9515 votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated TMC(M) candidate by a margin of 95401 votes ADMK candidate Thiyagarajan M. had got 306083 while TMC(M) got Kovai Thangam votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, TMC(M) candidate defated All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TMC(M) candidate Kandasamy .V attained 361743 votes and ADMK's Anna Nambi .R bagged 222852 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, ADK candidate defated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate Rajaravivarma B. attained 414810 votes and DMK's Dhandapani C.T. bagged 208540 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, ADK candidate defated Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate Raja Ravi Varma, B. attained 428704 votes and CPI's Aurmugham, M bagged 197395 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, ADK candidate defated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate Anna Nambi R. attained 324200 votes and DMK's Krishnaswamy K. bagged 222770 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defeated ADK candidate with a difference of 15735 votes. Here, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Dhandapani C.T. attained 233261 votes and ADK candidate Natarajan M.A.M. bagged 217526 votes
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, ADK candidate defated DMK candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate Raju K.A. attained 259388 votes and DMK's Dhandapani C.T. bagged 135194 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defated NCO candidate in one-sided contest. Here, DMK candidate Narayanan attained 267811 votes and NCO's K. R. Nallasivam bagged 141605 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 81754 votes DMK candidate Narayanan had got 237035 while INC got S. K. Paramasivam votes.
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated SWA candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate C. Subramaniam attained 176512 votes and SWA's R. M. Ramasami bagged 76415 votes.
