Palamu: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Vishnu Dayal Ram from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 263942 votes. The polling / voting in Palamu constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s V D Ram and Rashtriya Janata Dal#s Ghuran Ram

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 12 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 40.1 percent vote share while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha managed to win just 2 seats with a 9.3 percent vote share.

Out of the 13 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Palamu, 11 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Vishnu Dayal Ram of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Manoj Kumar by a margin of 263942 votes.

• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 55144 votes RJD candidate Manoj Kumar had got 206733 while BJP got Braj Mohan Ram votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate by a margin of 85125 votes BJP candidate Braj Mohan Ram had got 271657 while RJD got Jorawar Ram votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate by a margin of 80827 votes BJP candidate Braj Mohan Ram had got 317513 while RJD got Uday Narayan Chaudhary votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated JD candidate by a margin of 54415 votes BJP candidate Braj Mohan Ram had got 206419 while JD got Udai Narayan Choudhary votes.

टीडीपी अध्यक्ष और आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने आज राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी (एनसीपी) अध्यक्ष शरद पवार से मुलाकात की और उन्होंने नतीजे घोषित होने के बाद बीजेपी को सत्ता से बाहर रखने के लिए बीजेपी विरोधी मोर्चे को मजबूत बनाने पर चर्चा की. इससे पहले नायडू ने कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी से मुलाकात की थी.

कांग्रेस ने आचार संहिता के उल्लंघन के आरोपों में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को क्लीनचिट देने पर असहमति जताने वाले चुनाव आयोग के सदस्य अशोक लवासा के आयोग की बैठकों में शामिल नहीं होने से जुड़ी खबरों को लेकर शनिवार को मोदी सरकार पर निशाना साधा और आरोप लगाया कि इस सरकार में संस्थाओं की गरिमा धूमिल हुई है.

नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार से सम्मानित बाल अधिकार कार्यकर्ता कैलाश सत्यार्थी ने नाथूराम गोडसे को 'देशभक्त' बताने वाली साध्वी प्रज्ञा सिंह के बयान की आलोचना करते हुए कहा कि प्रज्ञा ने महात्मा गांधी की आत्मा की हत्या की है और बीजेपी को उन्हें पार्टी से तत्काल बाहर निकलकर राजधर्म निभाना चाहिए.

करीब डेढ़ माह तक चली लोकसभा चुनाव की थकान भरी कवायद का परिणाम आने से पहले प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी आज शनिवार को केदारनाथ पहुंचे और उन्होंने भगवान शिव का रूद्राभिषेक कर उनकी आराधना की. प्रधानमंत्री हेलीकॉप्टर से उतरने पर स्लेटी रंग के पहाड़ी परिधान और पहाड़ी टोपी पहने और कमर में केसरिया गमछा बांधे दिखाई दिए. हेलीपैड से मंदिर पहुंचने के पैदल रास्ते के दोनों ओर मौजूद श्रद्धालुओं तथा स्थानीय जनता का उन्होंने हाथ हिलाकर अभिवादन किया .
