Background

North Goa: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Shripad Yesso Naik from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 105599 votes. The polling / voting in North Goa constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Shripad Naik and Congress Party#s Girish chodankar

North Goa 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 2 out of the 2 parliamentary seat with 53.4 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 36.6 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in North Goa Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 78.89% Lok Sabha percent with 78.24% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 79.53% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 5770 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 7 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from North Goa, 5 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Shripad Yesso Naik of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Ravi Naik by a margin of 105599 votes.
