Mangaldoi: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ramen Deka from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 22884 votes. The polling / voting in Mangaldoi constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Dilip Saikia and Congress Party#s Bhubaneswar kalita

Mangaldoi 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 7 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 36.5 percent vote share while the All India United Democratic Front managed to win just 3 seats with a 14.8 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Mangaldoi Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 81.37% Lok Sabha percent with 82.28% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 80.37% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 10722 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 12 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Mangaldoi, 10 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Ramen Deka of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Kirip Chaliha by a margin of 22884 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 29866 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Narayan Chandra Borkataky attained 345863 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Madhab Rajbangshi bagged 315997 votes
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 16434 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Madhab Rajbangshi attained 283749 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Munindra Singha Lahkar bagged 267315 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Madhab Rajbangshi attained 278591 votes and BJP's Munindra Singha Lahkar bagged 148014 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Asom Gana Parishad candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 99132 votes AGP candidate Birendra Prasad Baishya had got 261838 while INC got Prabin Deka votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Asom Gana Parishad candidate with a difference of 18013 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Prbin Deka attained 164410 votes and Asom Gana Parishad candidate Birendra Prasad Baishya bagged 146397 votes
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 50002 votes BLD candidate Hiralal Patowary had got 162603 while INC got Dharanidhar Das votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PSP candidate with a difference of 39573 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Dharani Dhar Das attained 90058 votes and PSP candidate Hem Barua bagged 50485 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, PSP candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 37000 votes. Here, PSP leader N. Barua attained 107718 votes and INC candidate D. D. Das bagged 70718 votes
