Background

Lucknow: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Raj Nath Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 272749 votes. The polling / voting in Lucknow constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 5 on 6 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Rajnath Singh and Samajwadi Party#s Poonam Sinha

Lucknow 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Lucknow Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 53.02% Lok Sabha percent with 55.34% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 50.30% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 4696 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 29 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Lucknow, 27 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Raj Nath Singh of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi by a margin of 272749 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Samajwadi Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Atal Bihari Vajpayee attained 324714 votes and SP's Madhu Gupta bagged 106339 votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Atal Bihari Vajpayee attained 362709 votes and INC's Dr Karan Singh bagged 239085 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Samajwadi Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Atal Bihari Vajpayee attained 431738 votes and SP's Muzaffar Ali bagged 215475 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Samajwadi Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Atal Bihari Vajpayee attained 394865 votes and SP's Raj Babbar bagged 276194 votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Atal Bihari Vajpayee attained 194886 votes and INC's Ranjeet Singh bagged 77583 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 15296 votes. Here, JD leader Mandhata Singh attained 110433 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Dauji bagged 95137 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated LKD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Sheila Kaul attained 169260 votes and LKD's Mohd. Yunus Saleem bagged 47140 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 30382 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Sheila Kaul attained 123231 votes and JNP candidate Mahmood Butt bagged 92849 votes
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna attained 242362 votes and INC's Sheila Kaul bagged 77017 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated BJS candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Sheela Kaul attained 171019 votes and BJS's Purshottam Das Kapoor bagged 51818 votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Independent candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 20972 votes. Here, Independent leader A. N. Mulla attained 92535 votes and INC candidate V. R. Mohan bagged 71563 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JS candidate with a difference of 30017 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader B. K. Dhaon attained 116637 votes and JS candidate Atal Behari Bajpai bagged 86620 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 12485 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Pulin Behari Banerji attained 69519 votes and BJS candidate Atal Behari Bajpai bagged 57034 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated SP candidate by a margin of 73221 votes INC candidate Ganga Devi had got 123427 while SP got Natha Ram votes.

2019 के चुनाव में भी एनडीए को बहुमत मिलता दिखाई दे रहा है। एनडीए को 277, यूपीए को 130 और अन्य को 135 सीटें मिलती दिख रही है।

उत्तराखंड में भाजपा को 55, कांग्रेस को 30, बसपा को 9 और निर्दलीय को एक और अन्य के खाते में 5 फीसदी वोट मिलते दिख रहे हैं।

वोट प्रतिशत की बात करें तो यूपी में बीजेपी को 39 और गठबंधन को 48 फीसदी मत मिल रहे हैं। वहीं कांग्रेस को 8 और अन्य के खाते में 5 फीसदी वोट जाते दिख रहे हैं।

2014 की तरह उत्तराखंड में भाजपा इस बार क्लीन स्वीप करती नहीं दिख रही है। यहां भाजपा को 4 और कांग्रेस को 1 सीट मिलती दिख रही है।
