The polling / voting in Faridkot constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 7 on 19 May. The major contest is between Shiromani Akali Dal#s Gulzar Singh Ranike and Congress Party#s Mohd. Sadique

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Indian National Congress won 3 out of the 13 parliamentary seat with 33.1 percent vote share while the Shiromani Akali Dal managed to win just 4 seats with a 20.3 percent vote share.

Out of the 19 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Faridkot, 16 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Prof. Sadhu Singh of the Aam Aadmi Party as he defeated Paramjit Kaur Gulshan by a margin of 172516 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Shiromani Akali Dal counterpart with a difference of 5148 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 34959 votes. Here, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal attained 439749 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Jagmeet Singh Brar bagged 404790 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 37858 votes. Here, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal attained 305669 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Kanwaljeet Kaur bagged 267811 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, SAD(M) candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, SAD(M) candidate Jagdev Singh attained 305521 votes and INC's Harcharan Singh bagged 148138 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Shiromani Akali Dal candidate with a difference of 20661 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Gurbinder Kaur attained 238659 votes and Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Balwant Singh Ramoowalla bagged 217998 votes
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, SAD candidate Parkash Singh attained 282713 votes and INC's Avtar Singh bagged 182012 votes.
