Coimbatore: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Nagarajan, P. from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 42016 votes. The polling / voting in Coimbatore constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s C P Radhakrishnan and Communist Party of India (Marxist)#s P.R. Natarajan

Coimbatore 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

Out of the 25 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Coimbatore, 22 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Nagarajan, P. of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as he defeated Radhakrishnan, C.P. by a margin of 42016 votes.

• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, CPI candidate Subbarayan, K. attained 504981 votes and BJP's Radhakishnan. C. P bagged 340476 votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate by a margin of 54077 votes BJP candidate Radhakrishnan, C.P. had got 430068 while CPI got Nallakannu, R. votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Radhakrishnan C.P. attained 449269 votes and DMK's Subbian K.R. bagged 304593 votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, DMK candidate Ramanathan M. attained 463807 votes and INC's Kuppuswamy C.K. bagged 201020 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Kuppuswamy C.K. attained 408891 votes and CPM's Ramani K. bagged 222827 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Kuppusamy, C.K. attained 426721 votes and CPM's Umanath, R. bagged 286653 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Kuppuswamy C. K. attained 355525 votes and CPM's Umanath R. bagged 253006 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate by a margin of 56109 votes DMK candidate Ram Mohan Alias Era Mohan R. had got 276975 while CPI got Parvathi Krishnan votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defeated NCO candidate with a difference of 21178 votes. Here, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Parvathi Krishnan attained 267424 votes and NCO candidate Lakshmanan S.V. bagged 246246 votes
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 77053 votes CPI candidate K. Balathandayutham had got 214824 while NCO got Ramaswamy votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 65921 votes CPM candidate K. Ramani had got 240856 while INC got N. Mahalingam votes.
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated CPI candidate with a difference of 42561 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader P. R. Ramakrishnan attained 151019 votes and CPI candidate Parvathi Krishnan bagged 108458 votes
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 15012 votes. Here, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Parvati attained 110454 votes and INC candidate P. S. Rangasami bagged 95442 votes
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and ; here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his counterpart with a difference of 0 votes.

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने मतदाताओं से अपील की. उन्होंने कहा कि मैं ABP के दर्शकों से भी यही प्रार्थना करूंगा कि आप वोट जरूर करें. लोकतंत्र एक बहुत बड़ा उत्सव होता है. किसको वोट देंगे वो आपकी मर्जी लेकिन वोट जरूर दें. गर्मी बहुत हैं वोट देने जाएं तो पानी की एक बोतल साथ लेकर जाएं ताकि आपको कोई दिक्कत ना हो. इस बार रमजान भी है, क्रिकेट के मैच भी चल रहे हैं, कई त्योहार भी हैं, इसके बावजूद शासन ने सारी चीजों को संभालने की जिम्मेवारी लेने की कोशिश की है .मुझे विश्वास है कि उमंग और उत्साह के साथ ये लोकतंत्र का पर्व पूर्ण होगा. नई सरकार बनेगी, फिर से एक बार मैं आपकी आशा और आकांक्षा को पूरा करने के लिए जी जान से जुटा रहूंगा. कभी कभी लोगों को लगता है कि एक टर्म के बाद दूसरे टर्म के लिए क्यों मेहनत करे. दो टर्म हों या दस टर्म हों मैं जीवन के आखिरी पल तक आपके लिए हूं, आपके लिए काम करता रहूंगा. मैं यह विश्वास देता हूं.

नीरव मोदी, मेहुल चोकसी, विजय माल्या को लेकर प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि पहली बात ये है कि जो हमने कदम उठाए हैं उसी का कारण है कि भागने वालों को वहां की जेलों में भी जाना पड़ रहा है. इसकी का कारण है कि उनकी सारी संपत्ति जब्त हो रही हैं और देश पूरी तरह देख रहा है कि हम एक के बाद जो भी हमारे पास कानूनी हथियार हैं, क्योंकि देश तो नियम से चलता है, उसका पूरा इस्तेमाल हम कर रहे हैं, लेकिन इनको भागना क्यों पड़ा. वो तो मौज कर रहे थे. दस साल में ही उन्होंने ये रूपये मारे हैं. ये हमारे आने के बाद नहीं मारे हैं. ये सारे रूपये उस समय मारे हैं लेकिन उनको पता ही नहीं था कि कोई ऐसी भी सरकार आएगी कि जो रूपये निकलवाएगी तो वो भाग गए, भागना पड़ा है. पच्चीस साल के बाद भी कोई सरकार ऐसी आ गई तो ये हंसते हुए वापिस आ जाएंगे. हम लाएंगे तो सीधा जेल के अंदर डालेंगे ये पक्का है. दूसरा भागने को तो कहते हैं वॉल्टर एंडरसन, भोपाल वाला, गैस कांड. सरकारी जहाज में लाए और भगाया. इतने लोगों की मौत हो गई थी. आप देखिए थिएटर में आग लगी तो लोग भुगत रहे हैं. उसको सरकारी विमान में लाकर हिंदुस्तान से बाहर भेजा गया. वो भगाना कहते हैं जो कांग्रेस के लोगों ने किया.

क्या अमित शाह आने वाली सरकार में नंबर दो की पोजिशन में होंगे? इस सवाल पर प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि मैं समझता हूं कि ये आप इस प्रकार के खेल खेल रहे हैं, आप मेरी पार्टी में आग लगाना चाहते हैं. अगर अमित शाह अगर सरकार में आना चाहते तो वो राज्यसभा के सदस्य तो थे ही. एक डेढ़ साल से, तब भी मंत्री बन सकते हैं. तो ये बेकार की बातें हैं, तो इस तरह का विवाद पैदा करके आपको टीआरपी मिलेगा या नहीं मैं नहीं जानता हूं.
