Bilaspur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Lakhan Lal Sahu from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 176436 votes. The polling / voting in Bilaspur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Arun Saw and Congress Party#s Atal shrivastav

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 10 out of the 11 parliamentary seat with 48.7 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 1 seats with a 38.4 percent vote share.

Out of the 26 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Bilaspur, 24 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Lakhan Lal Sahu of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Karuna Shukla by a margin of 176436 votes.

• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 81553 votes BJP candidate Punnulal Mohle had got 324729 while INC got Dr. Basant Pahre votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 75333 votes BJP candidate Punnulal Mohale had got 274860 while INC got Rameshwar Kosariya votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 48615 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Punnulal Mohle attained 274793 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Kanya Kumari Alias Tanya Anuragi bagged 226178 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 34880 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Punnulal Mohle attained 226054 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Khelan Ram bagged 191174 votes
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 37961 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Khelan Ram Jangde attained 175642 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Govind Ram Miri bagged 137681 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Bharatiya Janta Party and Indian National Congress here Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated his Indian National Congress counterpart with a difference of 5171 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Khelan Ram Jangde attained 213395 votes and BJP's Govindram Miri bagged 99128 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 79079 votes INC(I) candidate Godil Prasad Anuragi had got 161065 while JNP got Ganeshram Anant votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 12827 votes. Here, BLD leader Niranjan Prasad Kesharwani attained 150039 votes and INC candidate Ashok Rao bagged 137212 votes
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and BJS here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his BJS counterpart with a difference of 8310 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and BJS here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his BJS counterpart with a difference of 1541 votes.
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Independent and JS here Independent candidate defeated his JS counterpart with a difference of 2171 votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 16714 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Reshamlal attained 58456 votes and BJS candidate Surajnath Pandey bagged 41742 votes
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 73817 votes INC candidate Reshamlal had got 129832 while IND got Thakur Bhuwan Bhaskar Singh votes.
