Balasore: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Rabindra Kumar Jena from Biju Janata Dal (BJD) won the elections by a margin of 141825 votes. The polling / voting in Balasore constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Pratap Sarangi and Biju Janata Dal#s Rabindra Kumar Jena

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Biju Janata Dal won 20 out of the 21 parliamentary seat with 44.1 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 21.5 percent vote share.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Mahameghabahan Aira Kharabela Swain attained 428070 votes and INC's Subhankar Mohapatra bagged 291698 votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 84002 votes BJP candidate Mahameghabhan Aira Kharabela Swain had got 421068 while INC got Kartik Mohapatra votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Independent candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Kartik Mohapatra attained 411168 votes and IND's Arun Dey bagged 220487 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 13218 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Kartikeswar Patra attained 266139 votes and JD candidate Samarendra Kundu bagged 252921 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, JD candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, JD candidate Samarendra Kundu attained 362537 votes and INC's Chintamani Jena bagged 244733 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 79185 votes INC candidate Chintamani Jena had got 274294 while JNP got Samarendra Kundu votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Chintamani Jena attained 229040 votes and JNP's Samarendra Kundu bagged 89151 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 59461 votes BLD candidate Samarendra Kundu had got 190219 while INC got Shyam Sundar Mahapatra votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PSP candidate with a difference of 23787 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Shyamsundar Mohapatra attained 98926 votes and PSP candidate Samarendra Kundu bagged 75139 votes
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, PSP candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 35369 votes. Here, PSP leader S. Kundu attained 113022 votes and INC candidate K. K. Pattanayak bagged 77653 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and GP here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his GP counterpart with a difference of 7279 votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PSP candidate with a difference of 34183 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Kanhu Charan Jena attained 158978 votes and PSP candidate Sidheswar Jena bagged 124795 votes
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated SP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Kanhu Charan Jena attained 205151 votes and SP's Sidheswar Jena bagged 94005 votes.

शरद पवारांच्या दुष्काळी दौऱ्यादरम्यान राष्ट्रवादीच्या कार्यकर्त्याचं पाकीट मारलं : शरद पवार चार छावणीला भेट देत असताना गर्दीत चोरांनी हात साफ केल्याची घटना समोर आली आहे. राष्ट्रवादीचे पारगाव घुमरा जिल्हा परिषद गट प्रमुख राज घुमरे यांचं पाकीट मारलं गेलं. तब्बल दहा हजार रुपये चोरीला गेले आहेत.
