Bagalkot: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Gaddigoudar Parvtagouda Chandanagouda from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 116560 votes. The polling / voting in Bagalkot constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Parvatagouda C Gaddigoudar and Congress Party#s Smt. Veena kashappanavar

Bagalkot 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 17 out of the 28 parliamentary seat with 43 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 9 seats with a 40.8 percent vote share.

Out of the 13 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Bagalkot, 11 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Gaddigoudar Parvtagouda Chandanagouda of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Ajay Kumar Sarnaik by a margin of 116560 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Gaddigoudar Parvatagouda Chandanagouda attained 459451 votes and INC's Patil R S bagged 292068 votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Janata Dal (United) candidate by a margin of 76434 votes INC candidate R.S. Patil had got 378488 while JD(U) got Ajayakumar Sambasadashiv Sarnaik votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, LS candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 83632 votes LS candidate Ajaykumar Sambasadashiv Sarnaik had got 352795 while INC got Siddu Nyamagouda votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 21332 votes. Here, JD leader Meti Hullappa Yamanappa attained 250683 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Iddappa Bhimappa Nyamagouda bagged 229351 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 21204 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Siddappa Bhimappa Nyamagoudar attained 276849 votes and JD candidate Ramakrishna Hegade bagged 255645 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 32238 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Patil Subhash Tammannappa attained 306990 votes and JD candidate Malaghan Sangappa Shivalingappa bagged 274752 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 10512 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Patil Hanmantagouda Bhimanagouda attained 234955 votes and JNP candidate Nadagouda Mallangagouda Pravatagouda bagged 224443 votes
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Veerendra Patil attained 245812 votes and JNP's Hundekar Totappa Malleshappa bagged 91839 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BLD candidate by a margin of 72098 votes INC candidate Patil Sanganagouda Basangouda had got 212393 while BLD got Tungal Keshavrao Krishnappa votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated NCO candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Sanganagouda Basanagouda Patil attained 197589 votes and NCO's Shivaputrappa Shivabasappa Melligeri bagged 91821 votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated IND candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate S. B. Patil attained 183984 votes and IND's A. D. Tondihal bagged 58304 votes.

নয়াদিল্লি: বারাণসীতে কংগ্রেসের প্রার্থী হওয়ার বিষয়টি কংগ্রেস সভাপতি রাহুল গাঁধীর হাতে ছেড়ে দিলেন প্রিয়ঙ্কা গাঁধী বঢরা। কংগ্রেস সভাপতি বললেই বারাণসী থেকে নির্বাচনে লড়বেন বলে জানিয়েছেন প্রিয়ঙ্কা। তাঁকে ইতিমধ্যেই পূর্ব উত্তরপ্রদেশের সাংগঠনিক দায়িত্ব দিয়ে কংগ্রেস সাধারণ সম্পাদক পদে বসিয়েছেন রাহুল। গত মাসে প্রিয়ঙ্কার মন্তব্যেই বারাণসীতে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির বিরুদ্ধে তাঁর প্রার্থী হওয়ার জল্পনা তৈরি হয়। মা সনিয়া গাঁধীর কেন্দ্র রায়বরেলিতে দলীয় কর্মীদের সঙ্গে আলাপচারিতায় তিনি সেখানে প্রার্থী হচ্ছেন কিনা, প্রশ্ন করা হলে প্রিয়্ঙ্কা মন্তব্য করেন, কেন বারাণসী নয়! এ নিয়ে প্রবল জল্পনার মধ্যেই তাঁকে উদ্ধৃত করে সংবাদ সংস্থা এএনআই রবিবার জানায়, কংগ্রেস সভাপতি যদি বলেন, তবে বারাণসী থেকে লড়তে ভালই লাগবে।
