Amalapuram: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Dr Pandula Ravindra Babu from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won the elections by a margin of 120576 votes. The polling / voting in Amalapuram constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Telugu Desam Party#s Ganti Harish Madhur and YSR Congress Party#s Chinta Anuradha

Amalapuram 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Telugu Desam Party won 15 out of the 25 parliamentary seat with 29.1 percent vote share while the YSR Congress Party managed to win just 8 seats with a 28.9 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Amalapuram Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 82.55% Lok Sabha percent with 83.29% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 81.80% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 6141 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Amalapuram, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Dr Pandula Ravindra Babu of the Telugu Desam Party as he defeated Pinipe Viswarupu by a margin of 120576 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate with a difference of 41485 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader G.V. Harsha Kumar attained 350346 votes and Telugu Desam Party candidate Dunna Janardhana Rao bagged 308861 votes
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Telugu Desam Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TDP candidate Ganti Mohanachandra Balayogi attained 368476 votes and INC's Gollapalli Suryarao bagged 249597 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 90240 votes TDP candidate Ganti Mohana Chandra Balayogi had got 286953 while INC got K.S.R.Murthy votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate with a difference of 29131 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader K.S.R Murthy attained 245477 votes and Telugu Desam Party candidate Balayogi G.M.C. bagged 216346 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 87487 votes TDP candidate Balayogi G.M.C. had got 273490 while INC got Kusunma Krishan Murthy votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate by a margin of 54781 votes INC candidate Kusuma Krishna Murty had got 339419 while TDP got Aithabathula Jogeswara Venkata Butchi Maheswara Rao votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Telugu Desam Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TDP candidate Aithabathula Jogeswara Venkata attained 317481 votes and INC's Kusuma Krishna Murthy bagged 197750 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Kusuma Krishnamurthi attained 244283 votes and JNP's Iswari Bai bagged 123193 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated BLD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Kusuma Krishna Murty attained 271982 votes and BLD's B. V. Ramanayya bagged 135993 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated NCO candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate B. S. Murthy attained 301405 votes and NCO's Penumala Gopalakrishna bagged 43846 votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPI candidate by a margin of 63266 votes INC candidate S. Bayya had got 141722 while CPI got D. Eda votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated CPI candidate with a difference of 12570 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Bayya Suryanarayana Murthy attained 151439 votes and CPI candidate Keneti Mohana Rao bagged 138869 votes
