Background

Allahabad: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Shyama Charan Gupta from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 62009 votes. The polling / voting in Allahabad constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Smt Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Samajwadi Party#s Rajendra Patel

Allahabad 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Allahabad Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 53.50% Lok Sabha percent with 55.27% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 51.33% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 3624 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 23 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Allahabad, 20 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Shyama Charan Gupta of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh Alias Mani by a margin of 62009 votes.

Here, Samajwadi Party leader Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh attained 209431 votes and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Ashok Kumar Bajpai bagged 174511 votes
  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 28383 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh Urf Mani Ji attained 234008 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi bagged 205625 votes
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Samajwadi Party candidate by a margin of 70331 votes BJP candidate Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi had got 219114 while SP got Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh Alias Maniji votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Samajwadi Party candidate with a difference of 43290 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi attained 265232 votes and Samajwadi Party candidate Shayama Charan Gupta bagged 221942 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated JD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Murli Manohar Joshi attained 216844 votes and JD's Saroj Dubey bagged 113321 votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between JD and Bharatiya Janta Party here JD candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 5196 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 38940 votes. Here, JD leader Janeshwar Mishra attained 178508 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Kamla Bahuguna bagged 139568 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated LKD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Amitabh Bachchan attained 297461 votes and LKD's Hemwati Nandan Bahugana bagged 109666 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP(S) candidate by a margin of 73025 votes INC(I) candidate Vishwa Nath Pratap Singh had got 153062 while JNP(S) got Laxmi Bhushna Varshney Urf Lalla votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 89988 votes BLD candidate Janeshwar Mishra had got 190697 while INC got Vishwanath Pratap Singh votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 95888 votes INC candidate Hemwate Nadan Bahuguna had got 142886 while NCO got Mangla Prasad votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SSP candidate with a difference of 16544 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader H. Krishna attained 114131 votes and SSP candidate S. Jaiswal bagged 97587 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JS candidate by a margin of 68533 votes INC candidate Lal Bahadur Shastri had got 137324 while JS got Ram Gopal Sand votes.
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated PSP candidate by a margin of 56032 votes INC candidate Lal Bahadur had got 124896 while PSP got Radhey Shyam Pathak votes.
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated KMPP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Jawahar Lal Nehru attained 233571 votes and KMPP's Banshi Lal bagged 59642 votes.

बीजेपी अध्यक्ष अमित शाह लोकसभा चुनाव 2019 में इतिहास रचने जा रहे हैं. गुजरात की गांधीनगर सीट पर अमित शाह को अब तक 8 लाख 90 हज़ार के आसपास वोट मिल चुके हैं. जबकि दूसरे नंबर पर मौजूद कांग्रेस के सी.जे. चावड़ा को 3 लाख 30 हज़ार के आस-पास वोट मिले हैं.
