Ajmer: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Sanwar Lal Jat from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 171983 votes. The polling / voting in Ajmer constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Bhagirath Chaudhary and Congress Party#s Rijju jhunjhunuwala

Ajmer 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 25 out of the 25 parliamentary seat with 54.9 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 30.4 percent vote share.

The total voter turnout was 68.69% Lok Sabha percent with 70.71% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 12 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Ajmer, 10 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Sanwar Lal Jat of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Sachin Pilot by a margin of 171983 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Rasa Singh Rawat attained 314788 votes and INC's Haji Habiburrehaman bagged 186812 votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 87674 votes BJP candidate Rasa Singh Rawat had got 332130 while INC got Prabha Thakur votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 5772 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 38132 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Rasa Singh Rawat attained 217655 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Kishan Motwani bagged 179523 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 25343 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Rasa Singh Rawat attained 211676 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar bagged 186333 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Rasa Singh attained 308254 votes and INC's Govind Singh bagged 200215 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 56694 votes INC candidate Vishnu Kumar Modi had got 216173 while BJP got Kailash Meghwal votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 43379 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Acharya Bhagwan Dev attained 168985 votes and JNP candidate Srikaran Sarda bagged 125606 votes
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Srikaran Sharda attained 212284 votes and INC's Bishweshwar Nath Bhargava bagged 108036 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 86907 votes INC candidate Bashweshwar Nath Bhargava had got 166940 while NCO got Mukut Beharilal votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 37221 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader V. N. Bhargava attained 145823 votes and BJS candidate S. Sharda bagged 108602 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JS candidate with a difference of 32143 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Mukatbehari Lal attained 92598 votes and JS candidate Bhagwandas bagged 60455 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 58283 votes INC candidate Mukat Behari Lal had got 101069 while BJS got Ram Chand Sivari Das votes.
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 17689 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Jawala Prashad attained 46679 votes and BJS candidate Chand Karan bagged 28990 votes
