Schools To Remain Closed In Some Districts Of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan And Haryana, Check List

Winter Vacation Extended: Many states such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab have extended school holidays.

Schools Closed Due To Cold Wave: Schools in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana will remain closed due to the extremely cold conditions in North India. As a consequence of a drop in the temperature, many states such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab have extended the holidays in schools. Check the below list of states where holidays are extended: 

Uttar Pradesh 

In view of the severe cold wave, schools up to class 8 in Meerut will remain closed till January 17, said District Magistrate Deepak Meena on Sunday. Meanwhile, schools in Lucknow from classes 1 to 8 will function from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, said the district administration officials.

Gorakhpur District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh on Sunday ordered schools to remain closed till January 17.

"In view of the cold, the educational work in the schools from LKG to Inter will remain closed on January 16 and 17. Schools in which pre-board and practical examinations are scheduled. Those schools can conduct pre-board and practical exams from 10:00 to 2:00," said the DM.

Haryana

Haryana Government has extended the winter vacation till January 21, 2023. Owing to the drop in the temperature, schools have been closed for all classes, except for Class 10 and Class 12 students. These students have to continue school in view of Board Exams 2023.

Rajasthan

Due to the cold wave, Schools in Bikaner will now remain shut till January 18, 2023. The schools will remain closed for students of all classes. Meanwhile, all schools in Udaipur will remain closed till January 18 for students up to Standard 8 in wake of the cold wave. Private schools will remain open from 9 am to 3 pm from January 19 to 22. 

Punjab

In the view of prevailing cold conditions in Punjab, the Chandigarh administration has extended the winter vacations for students upto Class 8. The schools will remain closed till January 21, 2023.
 
On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department predicted dense to very dense fog likely in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.
