Schools Up To Class 12 In Noida, Greater Noida Closed Today Due To Rain
All schools up to class 12 in Noida and Greater Noida will remain closed on Wednesday due to rain and waterlogging.
As a result of heavy rainfall and subsequent waterlogging in several areas this morning, the Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration declared the closure of all schools up to class 12 in Noida and Greater Noida on Wednesday. "Due to rains and waterlogging, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has ordered the closure of all schools up to Class 12 for today," District Inspector of Schools Dharmveer Singh said.
Some parents are complaining that due to the late announcement of school closure, many school buses had already picked up children early in the morning. However, they are now being brought back as a result of the announcement.
Some parents have received messages from schools that they would not like to cancel school at such short notice.

“Dear Parent, on account of the heavy rains this morning, the DIOS has declared school closure. Since most of our children are in transit, we would not like to cancel school at such short notice. Please take a considered decision on whether to send your child to school. Our staff members will be on campus to take care of the children. In case the weather worsens and we need to shorten the school day, we will inform you in due course,” a message from a Noida school’s official WhatsApp number read.
Some parents have received messages regarding online classes.
“Dear Parent, Kindly note online classes will be held for Classes II to VIII from 10:30 am to 2 pm. The links will be shared in the class groups and will also be uploaded in the parent app. Time table will follow shortly,’’ a message from a Noida school’s number read.
This morning, the Delhi NCR region experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, leading to poor visibility on the roads and causing disruptions in vehicular traffic.
The continuous downpour also resulted in the rise of the Hindon River's water level, leading to the flooding of several houses and roads in Greater Noida. Additionally, in Delhi, the Yamuna River's water level continues to overflow, reaching 205.45 meters at 7 am on Tuesday morning.
