NEET UG Row — 'Got Question Paper A Day Before Exam': Student 'Admits' To Patna Police

NEET Paper Leak Case: Sikandar, one of the arrested accused admitted that he provided both the question paper and the answers to some students.

In the latest developments concerning the NEET exam controversy, ABP News has accessed the results of three students who received the question paper before the exam. Aayush Raj, Abhishek Kumar, and Shivnandan Kumar got the paper before the exam. Ayush scored 300 marks, Abhishek Kumar scored 581 marks, and Shivnandan Kumar received 483 marks out of a total of 720 in the NEET paper. The Bihar Police has claimed that during interrogation, Aayush admitted to having received the paper one day before the exam and was asked to memorise the answers.

In connection with the NEET leak case, 13 individuals are in jail. Sikandar, one of the arrested accused, provided the question paper to four candidates, including Aayush, Abhishek, and Shivanand. Sikandar confessed that these individuals received the question paper and answers a day before the exam.

A copy of the confession by the accused arrested in Bihar has surfaced. According to the confession in possession of ABP News, the paper was leaked a day before the NEET exam.

As per the confession, the paper was leaked for an amount of Rs 30 to 32 lakh. Accused Sikandar accepted his involvement and stated that he met Nitish and Amit Anand at his government office in Patna, where they agreed to collaborate with the nexus.

Sikandar also confessed that he was in contact with the families of some NEET aspirants. He claimed that Amit and Nitish obtained the question paper on May 4 and had gathered the candidates at a school in Patna. The candidates were made to revise the answers to the questions in the exam paper.

Both Amit and Nitish accepted their involvement in the question paper leak in their respective confessional statements submitted to the police.

Notably, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has recovered six post-dated cheques believed to have been issued to mafias, who demanded over Rs 30 lakh from each candidate for the alleged leaked question papers before last month's NEET exam.

"During the investigation, EOU sleuths recovered six post-dated cheques issued in favor of criminals who reportedly provided question papers to the aspirants ahead of the examination," said Manavjit Singh Dhillon, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of EOU, to PTI on Sunday.
