UP Police Paper Leak Case: Recruitment Board Chairperson Renuka Mishra has been removed from the post.

In the wake of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment paper leak case, significant changes have unfolded within the state's Recruitment Board. The government has removed Renuka Mishra from the Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board. Rajeev Krishna has been given the responsibility of the Recruitment Board. More than 48 lakh candidates had participated in more than 60,000 constable recruitment posts in Uttar Pradesh. The exam was cancelled after the paper was leaked.

On February 23, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a decisive move by announcing the cancellation of the recruitment examination intended to fill 60,244 constable positions within the UP Police force. This significant decision followed a comprehensive review of the situation during a high-level meeting, which involved key police and administrative officials. The examination was conducted on February 17 and 18.

The Chief Minister directed that these recruitments be conducted with full transparency within six months.

Notably, the UPPRPB conducted the exam to fill a total of 60,244 vacancies in the Uttar Pradesh police for the post of Police Constables. Among the total posts on offer under this recruitment, there are 24,102 posts for unreserved category candidates, 6,024 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 12,650 posts for Scheduled Caste (SC), 1,204 for Scheduled Tribe (ST), and 16,264 posts for Other backward Classes (OBC) candidates.

The selection process for recruitment will involve multiple stages to ensure thorough evaluation of candidates. Initially, candidates will undergo a written examination to assess their knowledge and skills. Following the written test, successful candidates will proceed to the next stage, which entails document verification to authenticate their credentials and qualifications. Finally, candidates will undergo a physical standards test to ascertain their physical fitness and suitability for the role.
