CLAT 2019 registration Begins 10th January 2019, exam on May 12 in pen-paper mode

CLAT 2019 Registration: The decision to organize CLAT 2019 in offline aka Pen & Paper mode comes in the wake of numerous complaints due to technical glitches reported by over 400 candidates who had appeared for CLAT 2018 in online mode.

CLAT 2019 Registration is scheduled to begin on Thursday, 10th January 2019, this week on its official website hosted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) – clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be organized on 12th May 2019 across the country for law aspirants seeking admissions to Five-year Integrated Degree in Law and One-year degree in LLM at the 21 National Law Universities (NLUs) across India, albeit in Pen-Paper mode. The decision to organize CLAT 2019 in offline aka Pen & Paper mode comes in the wake of numerous complaints due to technical glitches reported by over 400 candidates who had appeared for CLAT 2018 in online mode. These candidates had moved the Supreme Court of India for various technical issues like hung computer machines, faulty next button, encrypted questions, and inability to fetch biometric details after appearing in the 13th May CLAT 2018 entrance exam in Computer Based Test mode. The candidates had demanded a Re-Exam, however, the Apex court ordered to give compensatory marks to settle scores with those who had suffered due to inefficiency of the system. CLAT 2018 was organized by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies Kochi (NUALS) and it was decided in the 4th annual meeting of the National Law University (NLU) Consortium at National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore that going forward the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be organized in offline mode to do away with these problems. The online application process will conclude on 31st March 2019 and final year candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in April/May 2019 are eligible to apply for CLAT 2019.
