CBSE Board Exam 2024: Check Class 12th English Papers Analysis Here

CBSE Board Exam 2024: Teachers provided positive feedback on the paper's balance and content.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12th English Core, Functional English and English Elective papers today, February 22. The duration of these exams was three hours, with the papers commencing at 10:30 am and concluding at 1:30 pm. The Grade 12 English exam received positive feedback from teachers and students alike. Teachers praised the intelligently framed literature questions, acknowledging their requirement for analysis and comprehension of literary devices.

Ms. Alka Kapur, Principal of Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh said, "The exam highlighted competency in literature and required proficient writing skills for long answers."

She added: "The CBSE Class 12 English Exam was meticulously designed to assess students' comprehensive understanding. It emphasized competency in literature and demanded proficient writing skills in long answers. The balanced paper, akin to the sample, tested knowledge across important sections fairly. The diligent study was duly rewarded, reflecting a well-rounded assessment aligned with subject expectations."

Pooja Batra, Teacher Senior Years, Shiv Nadar School, Noida, Said, "The literature questions in the Grade 12 English exam were intelligently framed. The questions based on literary devices were tricky and required analysis. Set 2 was slightly lengthy in comparison to the rest. The students were well prepared and managed to finish the paper on time. They mentioned that the preboard papers had raised their preparation standards and were also helped by the exam tips given by their teachers."

A teacher Mitu Majumdar praised the paper's balance and competency-based long-answer questions.

"Overall, it was a balanced paper, and the students could complete it on time. The reading section was easy, with two inference-based questions. The writing section was easy and familiar, as most questions were a part of their classroom assignments, UTs, and Pre-Boards. The short-answer questions were mainly from the textbook, and the long-answer questions were beautifully competency-based and gave full scope for creativity and extrapolation," Mitu Majumdar, Teacher Senior Years, Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad said.

A student Hrithka Grover said, "The first section initially confusing due to multiple answers for a single question. However, the writing section was straightforward for those familiar with the required formats and language. The literature portion, though detailed and subjective, was manageable. Long answers proved tricky, demanding careful contemplation of chapters and poems. Overall, Grover praised the paper, noting the examiner's wise coverage of various topics."

Avni Thapliyal, Suhana Gupta, Samya Arora and Neihal Gupta (Students of Shiv Nadar School) also shared their feedback.

With smiles of satisfaction, they collectively agreed that the paper was surprisingly easy. Reflecting on their preparation, they credited the comprehensive practice provided by the pre-board questions, which proved invaluable during today's exam.
