'Decided To Fight And We Will Win': Tejashwi Yadav Ahead Of Questioning In Land-For-Jobs Case

Ahead of CBI questioning in the land-for-jobs case, Bihar Dy CM Tejashwi Yadav said that he was ready to fight and win in the matter.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday said that they (the Yadav family) have always cooperated with the agencies, now it has become very difficult to fight but they've decided to fight and win ahead of CBI questioning in the land-for-jobs case.

While talking to the news agency ANI, Yadav said, "We have always cooperated with the agencies but the situation in the country is that it has become very difficult to fight but we have decided to fight against this and we will win."

Apart from Tejashwi, Misa Bharti is also being questioned by the CBI in the land-for-jobs scam and is expected to join the investigations today at the CBI office.

Tejashwi Yadav's Hearing In Delhi High Court

During the hearing of Tejashwi Yadav's petition in the Delhi High Court, the CBI said that it would not arrest the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar this month. After this Tejashwi Yadav agreed to appear before the CBI.

The statement was made before a single-judge bench led by Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma in Yadav's petition seeking an order to dismiss summons issued by the agency to the RJD leader on February 28, March 4, and March 11.

Yadav had claimed that Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure was not followed in the case, which states that a "police officer can only summon a person who is within the confines of his own or a neighbouring police station." In Yadav's instance, the plea claims that he is a resident of Patna and is asked to participate in the inquiry in Delhi, "which is neither within the jurisdiction of Patna nor adjacent to the same."

Land For Jobs Scam Case

In its charge sheet, the CBI claims that "irregular appointments" were made in the Railways in contravention of norms. It claims that in exchange for those jobs, individuals who acquired them sold their lands to the Yadavs at steep discounts.

Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Rabri Devi, and former Union Minister Lalu Yadav have also been questioned by the CBI in this matter earlier.

According to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the current market value of land allegedly purchased in return for jobs by Lalu Yadav's family is around 200 crore.
