Have They Been Asked, Kejriwal Asks As Cop 'Misbehaves' With Sisodia. Delhi Police Says 'Propaganda'
AAP has alleged that a Delhi police officer has 'manhandled' Manish Sisodia and now the party is seeking the suspension of the concerned officer.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday slammed the Delhi police for 'misbehaving' with former deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the Rouse Avenue Court. Retweeting a video posted by AAP minister Atishi, Kejriwal asked if the police have the right to treat Sisodia like they allegedly have in the video. The CM added that the police have been told to do so by someone above them.
"Does the police have the right to misbehave with Manish ji like this? Has the police been told from above to do this?" he said in the tweet.
क्या पुलिस को इस तरह मनीष जी के साथ दुर्व्यवहार करने का अधिकार है? क्या पुलिस को ऐसा करने के लिए ऊपर से कहा गया है? https://t.co/izPacU6SHI

Atish had tweeted the video and wrote in the caption, "Shocking misbehaviour by this policeman with Manish ji in Rouse Avenue Court. Delhi police should suspend him immediately."
Delhi police has now reacted to the allegation and said that the 'misbehaviour' charge is propaganda and that the action shown in the video is imperative from a security point of view.
"It is against the law to issue statements to the media by the accused while in judicial custody," the police said in a tweet.

In the video, media persons can be seen taking photographs of Manish Sisodia while he is inside the Rouse Avenue court complex. A police officer then suddenly pushes back the people with cameras and mobiles, turns around and puts his arm around Sisodia’s neck in an attempt to take him outside at a faster pace.
This comes as Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia till June 1 in the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) case of the excise policy issue. The court also directed the jail authorities to consider his request to provide him chair and table for study purposes. This comes after the same court earlier this month extended Sisodia's judicial custody till June 2 in the CBI case on Delhi excise policy.
The Rouse Avenue Court on May 8 had extended Manish Sisodia's judicial custody in the ED case of excise policy matter till May 23. This came after ED submitted before the Court that due to Sisodia's activities as Excise Minister, a proceed of the crime of Rs 622 crores was generated in the excise policy case, reported news agency ANI.
The ED had earlier filed a 2,000-page chargesheet against the jailed AAP leader for the first time.
Sisodia was arrested by the ED in this case on March 9 from Tihar Jail. He was first arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is also probing the case.
