Delhi Police Suspends Cop Who ‘Kicked’ People Offering Namaz On Road In Inderlok, Area Tense
Police deployed in Delhi's Inderlok area after video of a policeman kicking a few people while they were offering namaz on the road goes viral in Inderlok.
New Delhi: The Delhi Police has suspended one of its sub-inspectors for reportedly kicking people who were offering namaz in the Inderlok area of north Delhi. This action comes after a purported video circulated on social media showing the sub-inspector disrupting the namaz prayers on a road near Inderlok Metro Station during the 'Asar ki namaz' around 2 pm. Delhi Congress also shared the video on X, deeming the incident "Very shameful".
A video of the incident, which quickly went viral on social media, showed the sub-inspector kicking several people as they prayed on the road.
According to PTI, the incident sparked outrage among locals, who blocked the road and demanded action against the policeman. Security in the area was subsequently increased to maintain law and order.
Police were deployed in the Inderlok area after the video went viral.

In response to the public outcry, the police post in-charge seen in the video was suspended with immediate effect, confirmed Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Manoj Kumar Meena. "Necessary disciplinary action is also being taken," he added, as per PTI.
Speaking to PTI, the officer said that the area is currently peaceful and locals are helping police communicate with other protestors to convince them that action has been taken in the matter.

Notably, Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhi also condemned the incident and said the Delhi Police must file a case against the police officer who kicked the Muslims offering their namaz.

"The policeman who kicked a person while offering Namaz in Indralok Delhi has been suspended, but the question still remains that when will an FIR be registered under relevant sections against a policeman whose communal face is captured on camera?? @DelhiPolice You are the capital's police, you should draw a big line," he stated.
