In view of the incident, Maliwal's ex-husband Naveen Jaihind stated that an FIR should be launched in connection with the same. He also claimed that Swati Maliwal was being silenced and that she should come out.
Jaihind also claimed that AAP MP Sanjay Singh was aware that such an incident would take place and also knew what had happened.
On May 13, Swati Maliwal had made a PCR call at 9:34 AM saying that she was at Delhi CM's residence, where she was beaten up by his PA Bibhav Kumar. The former Delhi Commission for Women chairperson had also gone to Civil Lines police station on Monday to complain about the incident. However, she is yet to lodge an official complaint.
Since the news of the alleged assault broke out, the Bharatiya Janata Party attacked the AAP over it and claimed that Arvind Kejriwal, who is currenly out on an interim bail, was shielding his personal assistant Bhibhav Kumar, who is the accused in the case.
On Wednesday, AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh met party colleague, Swati Maliwal, a day after the party accepted that Delhi CM's personal assistant misbehaved with her.
Singh was accompanied by Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) member Vandana Singh during his meeting with Maliwal, which took place at Maliwal's residence, news agency PTI reported.
Sanjay Singh on Tuesday addressed a press conference in which he confirmed that the incident occurred with Maliwal and added that it was a highly condemnable one.
