Soon after a probe was launched, the suspect who shot dead the 42-year-old woman died by shooting himself, ANI reported the Police as informing.
Last month, a 19-year-old was murdered in Delhi University South Campus for trying to stop a fellow student from harassing his girlfriend after in a separate incident, two women in the Ambedkar Basti area of Delhi's RK Puram were killed by a group of assailants. The deceased were identified as Pinky (30 years old) and Jyoti (29 years old). The assailants shot them following which they were taken to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
A daylight gunpoint robbery inside Delhi's busy Pragati Maidan tunnel also caused concerns about the law and order situation. A 22-second video showed four men trailing the cab on two motorcycles and intercepting it inside the tunnel as other vehicles passed by. When the cab stopped, the two men riding pillion got down from their respective motorbikes, one quickly went to the driver’s seat and the other to the rear gate, both apparently whipped out their pistols. All four were wearing helmets.
The footage then showed both the car gates open and the man at the rear end being handed over a black-coloured handbag, apparently carrying money. The two then quickly hopped onto their waiting motorcycle and accelerated away with their accomplices.
As per the police, the passengers inside the hired car were a delivery agent and his associate, and the bag contained about Rs 1.5-2 lakh which they were going to deliver to someone in Gurugram.
Meanwhile, more details about the fresh shooting incident are awaited.
