2 Dead, 1 Injured After Two-Storey Building Collapses In Delhi's Welcome Area
The incident occurred around 2:16 am. Emergency personnel rushed to the scene and discovered three workers trapped beneath the debris.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, at around 2:16 am, a two-storey old construction building collapsed in Delhi's Kabir Nagar. Two people have been reported dead and one person is critically injured. According to news agency PTI, all three were employees of a jeans factory who worked on the ground floor of the old building that collapsed.
According to ANI, the deceased's names are Arshad, 30, and Tauhid, 20. They were declared dead upon arrival at GTB Hospital, while Rehan, 22, is still in critical condition and receiving medical care.

The incident occured around 2:16 am when authorities received a call reporting the building collapse. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to find three workers trapped beneath the debris. Describing the sequence of events, Station Officer Anoop told ANI, "We received a call regarding a building collapse, and the team reached the spot. Three workers were buried under the debris."

North East DCP Joy Tirkey told ANI that legal action would be taken in response to the incident and further investigation is in process.

Reacting to the news, AIMIM Delhi state president Shoaib Jamai told news agency PTI, "We don't want to do politics over the incident. However, people have died, so action must be taken against those responsible for it".

Earlier this week, a five-story building under construction in Kolkata's Garden Reach area collapsed, killing ten people. Around midnight, a portion of the five-story building collapsed onto the adjacent slum in Hazari Mollah Bagan's Garden Reach area. A search operation is underway to locate additional survivors who may be trapped beneath the rubble.
"An under-construction building collapsed in the Garden Reach neighbourhood late Sunday night. We've rescued a few people. According to NDTV, a police official confirmed that the rescue operation is ongoing.
According to NDRF sources, approximately 20 people have been rescued thus far with the assistance of police and locals.
