Delhi: Four People Injured Outside AIIMS After Being Hit By Car Driven By Cop's Wife
Police revealed that the vehicle was being driven by one Vipin Singh, the wife of an inspector posted in the Delhi Police.
New Delhi: Four individuals sustained injuries after being hit by a car near AIIMS in Delhi, officials on Wednesday. According to the officials, the car was allegedly being driven by the wife of a Delhi Police inspector, reported news agency PTI.
As per the agency, Police reached the spot after information was received on Tuesday noon from security guards of AIIMS regarding an accident that took place near gate number 6A and 6B of the hospital.
It was revealed that the vehicle was being driven by one Vipin Singh, the wife of an inspector posted in the Delhi Police.
A senior police officer said that police later visited the AIIMS Trauma Centre where injured persons -- Gaurav (22), his wife Ritika (21), residents of Trilokpuri, Nishant (27), a resident of Lal Kuan, and Ranveer (57), a resident of Noida -- were being treated for their injuries.
The medico-legal cases of the injured persons were collected and every one was found fit for the statement. Later, a PCR call was also made in this regard, police said. However, none of the victims gave any statement.
Further, as the injured individuals did not provide any statement, a case has been filed in this regard under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC on the DD entry of the information, as per the police.
In a similar incident, four people lost their lives and five were left injured after a car met with an accident in the Thanamandi area of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri on Wednesday.
The injured are being treated at the Government Medical College & Associated Hospital in Rajouri, reported news agency ANI while citing Dr Mehmood Hussain Bajar, Medical Superintendent, GMC, Rajouri. The prime cause of the accident has not been ascertained yet.
