Delhi Excise Policy: Court To Pronounce Order On CBI's Plea For Amandeep Dhal's 3-Day Remand
A Delhi court will give its verdict on CBI's plea for Amandeep Dhal's 3-day remand in the Delhi Excise Policy case.
New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested liquor businessman Amandeep Singh Dhal in connection to the Delhi excise policy scam case.
CBI arrested Dhal on Tuesday and produced him in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court today. CBI has sought 3-day remand of the liquor businessman.
The court has reserved the order on Amandeep Dhal's CBI remand and is expected to give its judgment shortly.
He was earlier arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 1 and was kept in judicial custody, reported news agency ANI. matter.

Meanwhile, CBI on Sunday grilled Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for around 9 hours in connection to the same case. "CBI questioning was conducted for 9.5 hours. I answered all the questions. The entire alleged liquor scam is false and bad politics. AAP is 'kattar imaandaar party'. They want to finish AAP but the country's people are with us," said CM Kejriwal.
According to a Hindustan Times report, Kejriwal was asked questions such as why there was a need to change the old liquor policy, why approvals were given after the Delhi cabinet cleared the policy in April 2021, and why the new policy was withdrawn after the Delhi lieutenant governor recommended a CBI probe.
CBI did not disclose Kejriwal’s responses, however, it did issue a statement on Monday, saying that his replies would be “verified and collated with the available evidence”.
The Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22, which grants licences to liquor traders, is said to have favoured certain dealers who allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge strongly denied by the AAP. The policy was later abandoned.
