Mumbai Likely To Receive 'Very Heavy Rainfall', Light Shower Expected In Delhi. Check IMD Forecast
Heavy rainfall is expected in Mumbai and western India, with a red alert. Delhi anticipates light rain, while other regions like parts of Karnataka and MP are predicted to receive very heavy rainfall.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected to lash Mumbai and other parts of western India on Wednesday, said the India Meteorological Department as it sounded a red alert for Konkan and Goa region.
Delhi is also expected to receive light rain during the day after the residents woke up to a warm morning on Wednesday. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius, nearly three notches above the normal for this time of the season.
According to the weather forecast, a generally cloudy sky would prevail over the city with light rain or drizzle.
Konkan, Goa, central Maharashtra, parts of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Assam and Meghalaya, Gujarat region, coastal and south interior Karnataka are expected to receive "heavy to very heavy rainfall", the IMD said.
Parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Marathwada, Saurashtra, Kutch, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Kerala and Mahe, and north interior Karnataka are likely to receive "heavy rainfall."
The weather department has issued a red alert for Konkan Goa and Maharashtra. An orange alert has been activated for Assam and Meghalaya, Gujarat region, Vidarbha, West and East Madhya Pradesh, and coastal and south Interior Karnataka.
Scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected over northwest India except East Uttar Pradesh for the next two days and scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall during the next five subsequent days, as per the weather department. East Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 28.
