'Bring Your Own Seat': Mumbai Man's 'Jugad' To Sit Inside Crowded Train Wins Internet

Mumbai's local trains are considered the city's lifeline, with approximately 3.7 million people commuting daily.

Mumbai local trains are famous for being overcrowded, and daily commuters consider themselves lucky if they find a seat for the whole way. But this man's ingenious idea has won the hearts of netizens.

In the video that is going viral, the man can be seen calmly opening his backpack and taking out a foldable plastic stool. He sets the seat on the floor between two seats and sits comfortably in the crowded coach. Towards the end of the video, he looks right at the camera and flashes a victory sign.

The video, shared by Instagram user @borivali_churchgate_bhajan, has already racked up over 5 million views, thousands of likes and hundreds of reactions.

One user commented on the video, “In ladies compartment they say am suffocating air is not coming, if u sit how can we stand n sitting people say we don’t have space to keep our legs, finally arguments continues then will kick the stool n pull the hair out…. 🙄🤣”

Another user who thinks this is a good idea, wrote, “This will be followed in Mumbai locals now 😜”

One user wrote, “If too many people start doing it it will be banned ..”

Meanwhile, one just commented about how “jugadu” the city is, “Mumbai is a jugadu city”.

Someone simply called the man “Boss" while another added, “POV: you are a true Mumbaikar." Another user while commenting on the daily struggle wrote, "Only local mumbai kar hi samaj payega ye 🔥🙌" (Only a local mumbaikar can understand this.)
