According to senior officers at the Beta-2 Police Station, the incident occurred when a wheel of a nearby Eco car reportedly detached at high speed.

A van carrying students from Botanical Garden to Galgotias University overturned on the Yamuna Expressway late Monday evening, injuring five of them.
According to senior officers at the Beta-2 Police Station, the incident occurred when a wheel of a nearby Eco car reportedly detached at high speed. Although the Eco car did not collide with the students' van directly, the sudden debris on the Expressway forced the driver of the university-bound vehicle to swerve sharply.
Van Overturns On Yamuna Expressway
The white van, packed with students returning from evening classes, lost control on the smooth, high-speed stretch and flipped onto its side. “Five students sustained injuries ranging from minor abrasions to fractures," said Inspector Sanjay Yadav. All injured students were rushed to a local hospital, where they are receiving treatment. “Fortunately, there were no life-threatening injuries,” he added.
Traffic on the Yamuna Expressway was briefly disrupted as emergency services cleared the scene. The Eco car driver halted shortly after the wheel fell off; his vehicle has been impounded for forensic examination. Police are examining whether a mechanical failure or poor maintenance led to the wheel’s detachment.
Residents and commuters have expressed growing safety concerns over high speeds and vehicle maintenance issues on the Expressway. The Beta-2 police have urged all motorists, particularly those transporting passengers, to conduct thorough pre-journey checks and adhere strictly to speed limits.
The case remains under investigation, with further updates expected as authorities piece together the events leading to this harrowing accident.
