Uttar Pradesh weather: An Orange alert has been issued for heavy rain and strong winds across 60 districts today.
UP Weather Today: The sudden change in weather in Uttar Pradesh over the past two days has brought relief from the heat but has also caused significant damage to farmers' crops. Heavy winds, storms, rain and hail in many districts of UP over the past 48 hours have destroyed farmers' ripe crops. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for strong winds and rain in more than 60 districts of the state today, Saturday, causing concern amongst farmers.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is an orange alert for rain in both the western and eastern divisions of UP today. An alert has been issued for strong dust storms, thunderstorms and heavy rain. In some areas, there will be thunderstorms with lightning and winds of 40-50 km per hour. The rain is expected to continue in the eastern division in the coming days. However, the weather is expected to be dry in western UP from Sunday.
Rain Alert In More Than 60 Districts
The IMD has warned of rain and hail with thunderstorms in several places in Baghpat, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Sambhal, Rampur, Budaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Barabanki, Lucknow, Shravasti, Gonda, Ayodhya, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Deoria, Mau, Gorakhpur, and Ballia.
In addition, rain is possible in isolated places in Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Etawah, Kasganj, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Kannauj, Oraiya, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Kanpur, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Fatehpur, Banda, Amethi, Sultanpur, Azamgarh and Ghazipur. A hailstorm warning has also been issued for several districts in the state for Saturday. The rain on Thursday led to a drop in temperature, bringing relief from the heat.
