Wife Goes To Beauty Parlour To Get Eyebrows Done, Husband Chops Her Braid

The woman's father said his daughter was married to Rampratap about a year ago, and since the marriage, she had been continuously harassed by her in-laws for dowry.

Locals said the man was angered by his wife's visit to the beauty parlour, after which he chopped her braid.

A man allegedly cut his wife's braid while she was at a beauty parlour to get her eyebrows done in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi. The man, identified as Rampratap, has been arrested following a complaint filed by the woman's father, Rashakrishna. 

The woman's father filed a dowry harassment complaint after the incident against her husband. The father said his daughter was married to Rampratap about a year ago, and since the marriage, she had been continuously harassed by her in-laws for dowry.

He alleged that the in-laws were demanding a refrigerator and a cooler too. A week before the incident, Radhakrishna brought his daughter to his home.

"The situation escalated when, as alleged by the father, his son-in-law, Rampratap, arrived at the beauty parlour with three companions and cut his daughter's braid," PTI quoted Circle Officer (CO) Ravi Prakash.

However, locals claimed Rampratap was angered by his wife's visit to the beauty parlour to get her eyebrows done, after which he cut her braid.

The matter is being further investigated, police said.

7-Year-Old Girl Raped In UP

A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district. A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim's mother, said Circle Officer (CO) Shyamveer Singh.

The accused was presented in the court on Saturday, from where he was sent to jail. Bhupendra lured the girl on Friday night and took her to the roof of a neighbour's house and raped her, police said.

The girl was found lying in a serious condition when locals reached there after hearing her scream. She was then taken to the Community Health Centre Sikandrarao.

Seeing the girl's serious condition, doctors referred her to Aligarh Medical College, where she is undergoing treatment.
