More Storms, Rain In Uttar Pradesh Today, 55 Districts On Alert Over Thunderstorms Warning

UP Weather News: Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast across 55 districts in Uttar Pradesh today, with winds gusting up to 50 kmph.

UP Weather Update: After several days of intense heat, the weather in Uttar Pradesh has changed dramatically. On Thursday, over 40 districts experienced thunderstorms and rain, leading to a drop in temperature. Hail also fell in several areas. Similar weather is forecast for the next two days. More thunderstorms and rain are expected in many districts on Friday, bringing relief from the heat.

The storms and rain in various districts of UP on Thursday claimed at least 22 people, including five women.

Uttar Pradesh has experienced extreme heat for some time, with temperatures exceeding 42 degrees Celsius in multiple districts. However, the weather changed on Thursday, with thunderstorms and rain bringing cooler temperatures to many areas. Dark clouds suddenly covered the capital Lucknow's skies followed by heavy rain. 

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), thunderstorms, heavy rain, and lightning are expected in both the western and eastern divisions of UP on Friday. Strong winds at 40-50 km per hour have also been forecast. Similar weather is expected on Saturday. From Monday, the weather will be dry again.

Temperature Drop After Rain

A 5-8 degrees Celsius drop in maximum temperature is expected in the next 24 hours, followed by a 2-4 degree Celsius rise. No significant change is expected after that. Rain is expected in several areas of Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Meerut, Hapur, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Gonda, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Kushinagar and Deoria in UP on Friday.

Furthermore, rain is expected at one or two places in Noida, Baghpat, Sambhal, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Saharanpur, Budaun, Kasganj, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Hardoi, Sitapur, Unnao, Kanpur Nagar, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Ayodhya, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Sultanpur, Ambedkarnagar, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Ballia, Mau, and Sant Ravidas Nagar.
