Man Who Saved Rishabh Pant In Horrific Car Crash Attempts Suicide With Girlfriend: Report

The couple attempted suicide in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district on February 13 allegedly after their families disapproved of their five-year relationship.

The man who saved batter Rishabh Pant's life in a horrific road crash on the Delhi-Dehradun expressway two years ago reportedly attempted to die by suicide along with his girlfriend. Multiple reports have said the girlfriend has died while the man, identified as Rajat Kumar, remains critical.

The couple attempted suicide in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district on February 13 allegedly after their families disapproved of their five-year relationship.

As per a TOI report, a resident of their village found them in distress and alerted others. By the time their families arrived, the damage was extensive. Both were rushed to a local hospital from where the girl was moved to another facility by her family.

Pant had a miraculous escape after his luxury car crashed into a road divider and caught fire after he dozed off at the wheel on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. He had suffered injuries on his head, back and feet and had to stay away from cricket for over a year.

Rajat, along with another local resident Nishu, helped him escape the burning vehicle and called an ambulance for him.

Pant had thanked the duo with a special post on his Instagram account for this gesture. Pant also gifted the duo scooters to give him his second life.
