Minor Among 2 Killed After Being Hit By Train While Recording Reel On Railway Track In UP

Two individuals, Anuj Kumar (20) and Ranjit Kumar (16), were struck by a train while filming a video on railway tracks in Uttar Pradesh.

A 20-year-old boy and a teenager were killed after being hit by a train while capturing a video on a track near Ikdil Railway Station in the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Friday.

Ikdil Station House Officer (SHO) Bhimsen stated that the victims Anuj Kumar and 16-year-old teen, Ranjit Kumar, were residents of Hiranpur village in Ikdil. Both of them had left home early Friday morning to attend nature's calls, Bhimsen added.

"Near the Delhi-Howrah rail line on the Kanpur-Tundla section, the two were making a reel on their mobile phones when they were hit by the Humsafar Express train," the officer said, news agency PTI reported.

"Both were severely mutilated in the accident, and nearby villagers working in the fields alerted the police and informed the villagers," he further added.

Soon after receiving the information about the incident, a police team reached at the site and discovered that both the bodies were torn and scattered across a distance. Their bodies were identified by their family after their slippers found at the scene.

SHO Bhimsen disclosed the victims worked as painters in Ahmedabad. They had come home to celebrate Diwali. He further added that the bodies have been sent for postmortem and legal proceedings are still in process.

In a separate incident, 6 people, including four of a family, were killed and five injured after a tempo in which they were travelling was hit by a tractor in Uttar Pradesh's Budaun on Thursday (October 31). All the identified victims, working as vegetable vendors in Noida, were returning home to celebrate Diwali. They were travelling in a three-wheeled loader tempo. 

As per ANI report, those who were killed include Atul, 31, from Mirzapur, Kanhai, 35, from Bareilly, his wife Kusum, 30, and their children, Kartik and Sheenu, aged eight and five, said Budaun District Magistrate Nidhi Srivastav. She said one person is yet to be identified. A search is still under way for the tractor driver who fled after the incident.
