'Aa Kar Theek Kar Denge': UP BJP MLA Caught Threatening SDM On Call In Banda, Video Goes Viral

BJP MLA Prakash Dwivedi accused the SDM of acting arbitrarily and threatened to "set him straight" for demolishing Golu Pandey's house without notice.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Banda, Prakash Dwivedi, has once again found himself at the centre of a controversy after a video surfaced online showing him berating a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) over the phone. In the viral clip, Dwivedi is heard warning Baberu SDM Rajat Verma that he would “set him straight” and “teach him how to do his job” if he continued to act arbitrarily.

The incident unfolded in Baberu town of Banda district, where, on Saturday, local police and administration demolished an old house located on the premises of a cooperative society using a bulldozer.

The house reportedly belonged to a man named Golu Pandey. Following the demolition, Pandey approached Dwivedi and shared his grievance, prompting the MLA to visit the spot and call the SDM from there.

I’ll Set You Straight: BJP MLA

In the viral video, Dwivedi can be heard saying in Hindi, “If you have come to Baberu to fulfil someone’s mission, you better mend your ways. We’ll request you once, we’ll urge you, but if you act arbitrarily, we’ll come and set you straight — that’s my promise. Tell whoever you want to tell, we’ll teach you how to do your job. Take this in writing.”

This video has been widely shared on social media. Notably, just a few days ago, Dwivedi was also accused of assaulting and misbehaving with another SDM.

Demolition Without Notice

Speaking to reporters in Baberu, the BJP legislator alleged that Golu Pandey informed him that his house was being demolished by the SDM and cooperative society officials. Dwivedi accused Sunil Patel, the District Panchayat President and former head of the cooperative society, of influencing local officials to target Pandey’s property.

He claimed that Patel’s relatives held several shops under the cooperative society and that the house was demolished to serve personal interests. According to the MLA, the house owner possessed proper documents related to the property, but SDM Rajat Verma and cooperative officials still carried out the demolition without issuing any prior notice.

'DM Knows Nothing'

Dwivedi further alleged that the family was inside the house during the demolition and that household belongings were still in place when the bulldozers arrived. He said women from the family were forcibly taken to the local police station by female police personnel.

Targeting the district administration, Dwivedi remarked, “The District Magistrate knows nothing. She merely follows whatever her subordinates tell her. Action will be taken against those responsible.”
