Uddhav Thackeray Not An Enemy, Says Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Calls Raj Thackeray 'A Friend'

In the latest development, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Uddhav Thackeray is not an enemy and called Raj Thackeray a friend.

The state where the financial capital of India is located has seen political enemies turning into friends, while alliance partners turning into foes. Maharashtra and its people have seen it all from the close quarters.

Now, in a new development in the state politics, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Uddhav Thackeray is not an enemy.

In an interaction with senior journalist Vivek Ghalsasi, as reported by NDTV, senior BJP leader Fadnavis said, "Earlier, Uddhav Thackeray was a friend, and now Raj Thackeray is a friend, but Uddhav Thackeray is not a shatru (enemy)."

The common thing which binded the Thackerays and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the ideology. Both of them share Hindutva ideology and have been natural allies. However, due to political differences in 2019, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena decided to part away from the BJP led-National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This was also the time when Raj Thackeray, who leads the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) party, became closer to the BJP. Raj Thackeray is the cousin of Uddhav Thackeray.

Talking about senior leader Sharad Powar's praises for the BJP and the RSS after the election results, Fadnavis said that the former has realised how the RSS overcame the fake narrative spread by the opposition.

On the question of the Pawar's faction reuniting with the original party, CM Fadnavis said, "If you see the developments between 2019 and 2024, I realised that anything can happen. Uddhav Thackeray goes to another party and Ajit Pawar comes to us. Anything can happen in politics but I am not saying this should happen."

While answering who is stricter, PM Modi or HM Shah, BJP leader Fadnavis said that the PM Modi is a very disciplined political while one can manage convince HM Shah once in a while.
