Two Trains Collide In Howrah In West Bengal, Three Bogies Derailed
The collision between the two trains resulted in the derailment of three coaches. Two coaches of the Tirupati Express and one coach from the other train were affected.

Two trains collided between Santragachi and Shalimar station in Howrah district of West Bengal on Sunday. The Santragachi-Tirupati Express was travelling from Santragachi to Shalimar, while a locomotive was travelling with two bogies from the other side.
The collision between the two trains resulted in the derailment of three coaches. Two coaches of the Tirupati Express and one coach from the other train were affected.
The train movement was affected on the Salimar-Santragachi line. There are no immediate casualties after the tragic incident.
On January, at least 13 passengers of the Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express were killed following a rumour of fire in the train after which the passengers jumped down the train and were then hit by the Karnataka Express speeding down the adjacent track, in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district.
The dead include nine men and four women. The Railway Board announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1.5 lakh each to the kin of the deceased, Rs 50,000 for grievous wounds and Rs 5,000 for simple injuries.
