Two Class 9 Girls Jump Off Moving Bus In MP To Escape Harassment, Driver Among 4 Held

Two class 9 girls jumped out of a moving bus in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, after being allegedly harassed by the driver, conductor, and two other passengers. The girls were injured and hospitalized.

Two class 9 girls jumped out of a running bus after four persons, including the vehicle's driver and conductor, allegedly made obscene comments and acted suspiciously in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh on February 10, a police official said.

As per the information, both the girls were injured in the incident and have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhawana Dangi said, "The girls study in a school in Tori and had boarded the bus from Adhrota to take the exam. The driver Mohammad Aashiq, conductor Banshilal and two others Hukum Singh and Madhav Asati, who were already present in the bus, started making obscene comments on them. When the girls got upset and asked to stop the bus, the accused refused to stop the bus and kept staring at them."

This incident became even more horrific when the accused closed the rear door of the bus, due to which the students suspected that something wrong was going to happen to them. Fearing for their safety, these girls decided to jump off the bus without delay.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Mishra said that all four accused have been arrested under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police is investigating the matter thoroughly and strict action will be taken against the accused, ASP Mishra said.

Earlier this month, an 11-year-old hearing and speech-impaired mentally challenged girl was abducted and allegedly raped by an unidentified accused in Narsinghgarh area of central Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district.

As per the details, the girl is an orphan and was living with her 80-year-old grandmother and middle-aged uncle in a hut in Narsinghgarh town, The New Indian Express reported. She went missing from the hut late on Sunday night and was allegedly raped in the adjoining jungles in Narsinghgarh area.
