Tamil Nadu, Kerala Likely To Receive 'Heavy Rain' Today, Check IMD Forecast

An orange warning has been issued for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala for Friday, forecasting very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning

The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for Friday. As per the weather department, the region is expected to receive very heavy rainfall coupled with thunderstorms and lightning. 

Light to moderate rainfall at a few places accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning very likely over Kerala & Mahe from 1st November-04th November, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal from 1st November-03rd November and Karnataka from 1st November-02nd November; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana on 01 November, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on 01st November, said the IMD in a bulletin. 

For the next four days, the IMD has put a yellow alert in place with heavy rain thunderstorms and lightning expected. 

An orange alert has also been issued for Kerala for Friday warning of heavy rainfall in districts like Pathanamthitta and Palakkad. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad are likely to receive heavy rainfall with the weather department issuing a yellow alert. 

On Saturday, heavy rain is expected to lash Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Palakkad. 

The next four days in Kerala also are expected to witness heavy rain as IMD issued a yellow warning.
