Shefali Jariwala's Family Members, House Staff Being Questioned; Forensic Probe Underway

Mumbai police are investigating the death of 42-year-old actor Shefali Jariwala, found at her Andheri residence around 1 AM on June 28.

Mumbai police and forensic team are investigating the death of actor Shefali Jariwala who passed away on the intervening night of June 27 and June 28. 

The police have said that her body was found at her Andheri residence at 1 am and was taken to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem examination. 

Earlier, a cardiac arrest was reported to be the cause behind the 42-year-old actor's death. However, the police have said that the cause of the death is not yet known and the investigation is underway.

Investigators are questioning  Jariwala's family members along with her cook and maid, reported IANS. 

"Shefali Jariwala died at the age of 42. She lived in the Andheri area of Mumbai. Members of her family had reached the hospital with her late last night and she was declared dead by doctors there," said the Mumbai police in their statement, reported ANI. 

"Mumbai Police received information around 1 am last night. Postmortem is being done at Cooper Hospital. The cause of death is not yet clear," they added. 

The watchman of Golden Ray's residence, where Jariwala lived, said a car had left but he did not see the actor. " I opened the gate but I don’t know anything. I’m not sure about this. I only found out around 1 AM when a man told me that Shefali had died...," Shatrughan Mahato told IANS.
