Sanjeev Arora Leads AAP To Victory In Ludhiana West Bypoll

AAP's Sanjeev Arora won the Ludhiana West bypoll in Punjab, defeating Congress, BJP, and SAD candidates decisively.

AAP's Sanjeev Arora secured a decisive victory in the Ludhiana West bypoll in Punjab, with more than 10,000 votes on Monday, according to Election Commission website.

Ludhiana West Punjab Bypoll Update

The by-election, conducted on June 19, recorded a voter turnout of over 38 per cent in Ludhiana West, as per official figures.

Candidates from AAP, BJP, Congress, and Shiromani Akali Dal were in the fray. Arora led with 35,179 votes (39.94%), outpacing Congress’ Bharat Bhushan Ashu, BJP’s Jiwan Gupta, and SAD’s Advocate Parupkar Singh Ghuman.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia says, "This is very good news for Punjab and Gujarat, as AAP has won. In Punjab, Sanjiv Arora has won the Ludhiana West bypoll, and the people have shown that they are very happy with the work done by the Mann-led Punjab government. Gujarat is also very important, as Gopal Italia has won from the Visavadar seat. Issues that were not raised earlier will now be raised by Gopal Italia."

Punjab AAP president and state minister Aman Arora says, "The credit goes to Arvind Kejriwal's policies, Bhagwant Mann government's works, hard work of our workers and volunteers and decency of Sanjeev Arora."

Sanjeev Arora captured almots 40% of the total vote share, where as the second best one was 22%.

Punjab AAP incharge, Manish Sisodia says, "This is a matter of great joy for every worker of AAP that the party has won two seats in by-elections. Both seats are very important...This boosts the morale of AAP workers in Punjab. People of Punjab have given their stamp of approval on the works done by the Bhagwant Mann Govt. They are happy with the work being done. It was being discussed in Punjab that these are semi-finals. We have won the semi-final, it is now time for final. Gujarat too was very important for us. Gopal Italia is a sharp leader, to raise the issues of Gujarat and raise the voices of all those people whose voices were always suppressed - he will emerge as a strong voice..."
