SP MLA Pallavi Patel Detained While Protesting Against Karni Sena's Vandalism At Party MP's Residence

Samajwadi Party MLA Pallavi Patel attempted to stage a protest with Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) workers from Parivartan Chowk to Hazratganj intersection.

Pallavi Patel, a Samajwadi Party MLA, was taken into custody in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday after protesting against the vandalism carried out by Karni Sena at the residence of Samajwadi Party MP Ram Ji Lal Suman.

Sharing a protesting video on X, she wrote, "Protesting on the streets of Lucknow against the attack and violence at the house of a Dalit MP. Taken into custody along with hundreds of supporters. The struggle will continue."

Pallavi Patel and Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) workers attempted to stage a protest from Parivartan Chowk to Hazratganj intersection. However, the police set up barricades at Parivartan Chowk and detained all protesters, transporting them to Eco Garden in buses.

Pallavi Patel Demands Action Against Accused Under NSA

MLA Pallavi Patel stated that Ram Ji Suman belongs to a Dalit family, which is why he was subjected to such atrocities, calling it a pre-planned conspiracy. She emphasised that this was not a one-time incident but had been plotted for a long time.

In addition, she added that historians have written about the same subject in different ways. However, attacking a Dalit MP's house based on agreement or disagreement is wrong and a highly criminal act. She demanded that the accused be charged under the National Security Act (NSA) and that the Karni Sena be banned, according to a report by Amar Ujjala.

On Tuesday, March 26, members of the Karni Sena attacked and vandalised the Agra residence of Ram Ji Lal Suman. The protest against Suman stemmed from a statement he made regarding Rana Sanga. Following the attack, both the police and Ram Ji Lal Suman's son have filed separate FIRs.
