A day before her tragic death in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Sangita Chandgude shared a video on her YouTube channel in which she spoke about the importance of mutual effort and appreciation in relationships.

Chandgude, who had more than 30,000 subscribers, died on Friday along with her husband, Murlidhar Chandgude, 48, and their 19-year-old son, Kunal, in a tragic fall from Khavda Hill in the Tisgaon area.

Sangita Chandgude's last video

In the video, Sangita compared relationships to a roti, saying it tastes good only when cooked on both sides. She stressed that relationships, too, work only when both people contribute and value each other.

She said there was no point in making repeated efforts for someone who did not value one's love or appreciate what was being done for them.

“If a relationship works from both sides, and both people value and appreciate each other, then stay in such a relationship,” she said.

“Otherwise, if one person keeps making all the effort and the other doesn't value it at all, then there is no meaning in such a relationship. It is always better to walk away from such relationships.”

Sangita also urged people to give their time and efforts only to those who genuinely valued them.

‘Society will judge you no matter what’

In another video, Sangita spoke about how women are judged by society regardless of their choices.

She said women are criticised whether they work outside the home or stay at home, and can be labelled negatively based on how they interact with others.

“So, don’t worry about what people think. People will judge you and put labels on you no matter what you do,” she said.

Sangita urged people to live for themselves and their children, do what they felt was right and be happy.

What happened at Khavda Hill?

According to police, Kunal went to the hill at around 10 am on Friday following an argument with his parents over his demand for a new mobile phone. His father followed him along with Sangita.

Police, fire brigade personnel, villagers and the local sarpanch reached the spot and tried to persuade the teenager to move away from the edge. Rescue personnel also attempted to place a safety net at the foothill.

The situation continued for nearly three hours as Kunal repeatedly changed his position near the edge, making it difficult for rescuers to anticipate where he might jump.

At around 1 pm, Murlidhar approached his son and tried to persuade him to step away from the edge. Kunal suddenly jumped, and his father fell while attempting to grab and save him.

Sangita, who witnessed her husband and son fall from the steep hill, also fell moments later, police said.

The bodies were recovered by police and sent for further formalities.
